注染とは明治時代に生まれた染色技法です。
その名の通り染料を注ぎ、染める技法。
片面しか色がのらないプリントと違って、注染は糸自体を染めるので、表・裏がないのが最大の特徴です。
一枚の布をじゃばら状に重ね合わせ、表・裏両方から二度染めていくことで、裏表なくきれいに染まります。
また、一度に複数の色を染められ、色と色が混じりあう表現ができるので、独特の色合い、また絶妙なタッチや立体感が表現できるのも特徴のひとつです。
注染の工程では、すべてを職人が手作業で行うので、ひとつとして同じものは存在しません。
職人の手作業だからこそ表現できる、絶妙な色彩、ぼかし、風合いが魅力です。
Pour-dyeing is a dyeing technique that originated in the Meiji era .
As the name suggests, dye is poured into the dye and dyed.
Unlike prints, where the colour is only applied to one side, the greatest feature of Kyusome is that there is no front or back, as the thread itself is dyed.
By overlapping a piece of cloth in a jacquard shape and dyeing it twice, from both the front and the back, the cloth is dyed beautifully without a front and back.
Another feature is that several colours can be dyed at once, and as colours can be mixed together, unique shades, exquisite touches and a three-dimensional effect can be expressed.
In the pour-dyeing process, everything is done by hand by craftsmen, so no two pieces are ever the same.
The exquisite colours, blurring and texture can only be expressed by the handwork of craftsmen.

- 型紙は、柿渋を用いて手漉和紙を張り合わせた地紙またはこれと同等の地紙に切り込みをしたものとする。
- 型付けは、手作業により行う。
- 染色は、手作業で注入により行う。
<Traditional skills and techniques >
- The katagami shall be cut into a base paper made of handmade Japanese paper laminated with persimmon tannin or equivalent base paper.
- Moulding is carried out manually.
- Dyeing is carried out manually by injection.
Dyeing is carried out manually by injection. As gluing, pouring, rinsing and drying are carried out by hand, the dyes are affected by blotting, splashing and the texture of the fabric, and the finished product varies slightly according to weather, humidity and temperature.
- 表裏のない仕上がりになります。
表裏ない＝縁起もの、としてもご利用いただけます。 - ぼけ・濃淡（グラデーション）が表現できる「ぼかし染め」など、職人が手で染め上げるため、１枚１枚各々の雰囲気を楽しめます。
- 使用している間の色褪せがあります。
特に藍染などは、その色褪せにより更に雰囲気ある品に育っていきます。

- 端は切りっぱなしになっておりますので、早く乾きます。
ほつれ防止のため端を縫い返しますと縫い返し部分に湿気が溜まり、雑菌が繁殖しやすくなります。
切りっぱなし手ぬぐいは、清潔で衛生的にお使いいただけます。 -
お洗濯後にほつれた場合には、数回ハサミで切り取っていただけますと
端から１cmくらいでほつれが止まります。

糊付・注染・すすぎ・干しを手作業で行うため、染料の滲み・飛び・生地の風合いの影響を受け、天候・湿気・気温によって仕上がりが微妙に異なりますことご了承くださいませ。

The colours will fade during use.
Especially with indigo dyeing, the fading of the colours will make the item even more atmospheric.

The edges are left uncut so that they dry quickly.
If the edges are stitched back to prevent fraying, moisture can accumulate in the stitched back area and bacteria can easily grow.
Tenugui cloths with the edges left cut are clean and hygienic to use. -
If you find that the ends have frayed after washing, you can use scissors to cut them out a few times.
The fraying stops at about 1 cm from the edge. - Please note that because the gluing, pouring, rinsing and drying are done by hand, the dye may bleed through, fly off or be affected by the texture of the fabric, and the finished product may vary slightly depending on the weather, humidity and temperature.

藍染製品は、ピュア・インディゴで染め上げているため、染めたては手に染料が残りますので、一度水洗いしてからご使用ください。
藍は、色がなじみ、風合いが変化してまいります。
日々、変化を楽しみながらお使いください。

- When washing, do not wash with other items and do not use synthetic detergents, fluorescent brighteners or bleaches.
- Do not leave the garment wet or wash it in cold water.
- After washing, shape and hang dry in shade.
- The garment will shrink slightly after washing. When ironing, please dampen with mist or steam.
- If the cut-outs on the ends start to fray after use and washing, cut only the weft threads with scissors and treat. This will make it less likely to fray.
- The fraying stops at about 1 cm from the edge.

Indigo-dyed products are dyed with pure indigo, so the dye will remain on your hands when freshly dyed, so please wash in cold water before use.
The indigo colour will blend in and the texture will change.
